Join the Winter Universiade • Volunteer with Creativity Call for Cultural and Creative Designs for Volunteer Services of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade

To implement the work arrangements of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and the Municipal People’s Government on the Winter Universiade and the development of ice and snow sports, and to uphold the event philosophy of “Streamlined, Safe and Splendid”, we hereby launch the “Join the Winter Universiade • Volunteer with Creativity” Call for Cultural and Creative Designs for Volunteer Services.Rooted in Changchun’s characteristics, the distinctive features of the Winter Universiade and the spirit of youth, this campaign aims to promote the volunteer spirit and tell the story of the grand event through cultural and creative products.

By building a platform for creative incubation, professional improvement and achievement transformation, we will gather the wisdom of young people, create a high-level, high-quality and implementable volunteer culture brand, inject cultural momentum into volunteer services for the Winter Universiade, and leave a youthful mark.

Theme of Submissions

Taking the celebration of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade as an opportunity, entries shall be rooted in the volunteer spirit of “Dedication, Friendship, Mutual Assistance and Progress”, focusing on the enthusiasm for service, team demeanor and event vitality in the hearts of young volunteers.

Young people are encouraged to convey service concepts through design language, build team identity with creative ideas, interpret the value of dedication with practical aesthetics, sublimate the volunteer spirit in creation, demonstrate youthful responsibility, show the sincere, friendly, professional, efficient and uplifting spirit of young volunteers of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade in the new era, and jointly shape a warm and distinctive cultural mark of volunteer services for the event.

Participants

Young artists and designers nationwide, teachers majoring in art and design in colleges and universities, and current college students (including postgraduate students) from universities across China.Participants may enter individually or in teams (with no more than 3 core members).

Entry Categories and Creation Requirements

This call is divided into three categories: slogans, official nicknames and theme songs for young volunteers of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.

All entries shall be closely themed, based on the volunteer spirit of “Dedication, Friendship, Mutual Assistance and Progress”, and highlight the warmth of volunteerism, team demeanor and vitality.

Part 01 Volunteer Slogans for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade

Entries shall condense the core of the volunteer spirit, creating a concise, powerful, catchy and easy-to-spread exclusive slogan for volunteers to unite volunteer forces, spread the philosophy of the Winter Universiade, effectively stimulate youth participation, and enhance the sense of belonging and mission of volunteers.Slogans shall deeply integrate the five core elements: ice and snow, youth, volunteerism, solidarity and Changchun.

The language shall be appealing, contemporary and inspiring. Chinese slogans shall be limited to 20 characters or fewer.An accurate and natural English translation is required.A Word document shall be submitted, including the final slogan (Chinese and its English translation), together with a concise creative statement (no more than 200 words) that clearly explains the core concept, literal and profound meaning of the slogan, its connection with the event theme and volunteer spirit, and the emotional resonance it aims to inspire.

Part 02 Official Nicknames for Volunteers of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade

Nicknames shall focus on the core elements of ice and snow, youth, volunteerism and Spring City of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, fit the service attributes of Winter Universiade volunteers, and reflect youthful responsibility and the vitality of the ice and snow event.Creation may incorporate Changchun’s regional cultural symbols (such as clivia, sika deer, ice and snow, automobile city, film city, etc.), the event philosophy of the Winter Universiade and the volunteer spirit, creating official Chinese nicknames for volunteers that feature both regional characteristics and contemporary appeal.Nicknames shall be concise, easy to remember and catchy, preferably 2–4 characters, with no rare or ambiguous words, suitable for promotion and application on volunteer uniforms, cultural and creative products, promotional materials and other scenarios.Each submitted nickname shall be accompanied by a creative statement of no more than 100 words, explaining its implication, creation concept and relevance to volunteers of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.

Part 03 Volunteer Theme Song for the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade

Entries shall include complete lyrics and music, exquisite arrangement, and positive, uplifting melodies. Lyrics shall align with the themes of youth volunteer services and the Winter Universiade.

Required submissions:

A Word document containing lyrics (with paragraph markings) and a creation statement of no more than 300 words explaining the core conception;

A full audio file of the song (.wav or .flac lossless format, sampling rate not lower than 44.1kHz/16bit);

An instrumental accompaniment audio file (same format and quality requirements);

A PDF song information sheet including song title, duration, lyricist, composer and copyright statement.

Part 04 Special Note

Submissions with additional VI application system and derivative product designs will be given extra points.

Participants shall guarantee the originality of their works and that there are no intellectual property disputes. Any plagiarism shall result in sole responsibility and disqualification.Except for the right of authorship, all other intellectual property rights of award-winning works shall be owned by the organizer.The Executive Committee reserves the right to modify, develop, produce, exhibit and disseminate the works for non-commercial publicity and display only.The organizer reserves the right of final interpretation.

Selection and Exhibition

Experts in relevant fields will be organized to conduct the evaluation. Hierarchical awards and special honors will be conferred.Outstanding works may be adopted and applied by the event, supported for achievement transformation and copyright registration.

Winners will be included in the youth design talent pool and recommended for internships and employment.Excellent organizing units, instructors and individuals (teams) will also be commended.

All award-winning works will be diversely exhibited and promoted through official platforms, offline exhibitions and event scenarios, fostering a warm atmosphere where everyone is a volunteer welcoming the Winter Universiade.
